The UK Supreme Court was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on October 16, 2009. The first edition of the Public International Law booklet was published to mark the Court's tenth birthday in 2019. As a consequence of the position of the U.K. in international business, international law is particularly relevant among English Courts. United Kingdom plays a traditional key role in international business and its arbitration courts are often chosen to settle international cases. Cases related to states sovereign immunity and relations between domestic law and ECHR have been deeply analyzed. HM Treasury v Ahmed [2010], The United States of America v Nolan [2015], and General Dynamis United Kingdom Ltd v Libya [2021] are just some of the cases featured in the booklet.
